I was raised in the Pacific Northwest and the rich visual imagery of popular American culture. While always involved in the arts, I began painting seriously in 1996 and have shown works throughout the Northwest United States and Japan. Over 50 works are on permanent display in schools, restaurants, office buildings and private collections.I considered listing appearances in over 30 juried shows and assorted awards I've won when it occured to me that it just doesn't matter.
What matters is how my art is perceived. If it appeals to you in some way or inspires a thought or emotion that makes you stop and think, then I am happy. I am simply seeking beauty, truth, humor and a rich appreciation for color and form. If it ever becomes more complicated than that, I will quit and go to work in Kafka's cubicle.
I try not to get pinned down with one particular style in my work. From pop to oil portraits I love an eclectic approach to painting and often find myself drawn to obscure subjects and time frames. My photographic work is merely validation of the beauty that surrounds us already. I firmly believe that the art should speak more than the artist. Thank you for considering my world view as seen in my art.
